This fact is especially significant when we consider that, in technical terms, <strong>indoor environmental quality<\/strong> (IEQ) is of paramount importance.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-24ca5e0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"24ca5e0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"color: #4d4d4d;\">IEQ has a direct impact on our health, well-being and productivity, influencing work performance and children&#8217;s learning, for example. Maintaining a high IEQ implies considerable energy consumption, so it is essential that the technologies in charge of maintaining it are highly efficient, environmentally friendly and reasonable investment.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #4d4d4d;\">At the heart of IEQ are two main elements: thermal comfort, which encompasses adequate temperature and humidity, and <strong>indoor air quality<\/strong> (IAQ). Achieving optimal IAQ involves effectively renewing indoor air and adequately filtering the air. At the same time, maintaining adequate thermal comfort involves providing energy for heating and cooling. Specifically, this energy is needed to:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #4d4d4d;\">Condition the outdoor air entering the building, which includes heating, cooling, and possibly humidification and dehumidification.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #4d4d4d;\">Compensate for building heat gains and losses, which involve the transfer of energy through the building envelope due to temperature differences, the thermal load of electrical equipment, or solar radiation.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #4d4d4d;\"><strong>Rooftop units<\/strong> (RTU), are compact, self-contained devices that integrate all the necessary components for efficient air renewal and indoor thermal comfort, as well as the generation of cooling and heating capacity. For many building typologies and applications, rooftop units are emerging as the most suitable choice for an integrated <strong>heating, ventilation and air conditioning<\/strong> (HVAC) system solution instead of separate heating, cooling, ventilation and control systems. This translates into high energy efficiency, operating reliability and low investment costs.
